I just discovered this podcast, and this was the first episode I listened to! This is one of the first actual play podcasts I’ve really enjoyed, and I think it’s because of the fact that you don’t entirely let it play out in real time. When you’re playing, time passes a lot faster than it does when you’re just listening, so getting rid of that dead air makes for a much more entertaining session as a non-participant.
On another note, I heard you say in an earlier episode that you’d like to have Noah “Spoony” Atwiler on the show. Given his vitriolic rage he expressed against 5e in a recent Counter Monkey video, I’d really like to hear him discuss the system with Darryl, given how much Darryl liked 5e during its playtesting phase.
We’ve reached out to Noah several times and, while he was initially very positive last year, I haven’t heard a fucking thing from him since he moved to Chicago. And while I love Counter Monkey and look forward to every new episode..I can’t even begin to refute his review of 5e D&D.
Though I’d love to hear his opinion on the 5th Edition of Shadowrun….
