This time, Ross and Darryl talk about the films making up the current DC Expanded Universe aka the Snyderverse aka the Murderverse, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Spoiler Alert: If you’ve only seen Man of Steel, we don’t get into BvS spoilers until about the 45 minute mark so you’re safe to listen up to that point. After that, we have spoilers for that film plus the comic series The Dark Knight Returns and A Killing Joke.

A key point that makes Man of Steel and BvS so personally unlikable to me is that this is not an alternate view; this is what WB is presenting as THE superman and Batman for their cinematic universe.
As game-changing as The Dark Knight Returns was, it was still not the main storyline. No one who read it felt that this was the new way the superheroes were going to be portrayed. But WB wants what Snyder threw on the screen to be what kids of our generation think Superman and Batman are.
That’s what fuels my nerdrage.
Thanks for doing the show, guys, it’s always great to see creators take the questions and feedback of the listeners seriously! Loved to hear your fews on both Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman. I kinda liked both movies, although I agree the portrail of Pa Kent in MoS was horrible and that the BvS movie should be shorter or they should have released the full version so we wouldn’t have to guess a lot of things.
Anyone else having trouble loading the episodes? I’ve tried on multiple sources and devices. I think there’s a problem with the source.
Sorry it’s taken so long to respond. We had issues over the summer during the hiatus with our hosting, but things should be working again.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but you cannot subscribe to, nor download any episodes through iTunes. It’s still listed, but inaccessible.
Also, your forums have been taken over by a bot spamming cheap “sports jerseys”. I’m guessing that the word “gamer” in the forum name attracted their attention.
